May Bead Journal Page

I can not believe that this is the last page for the 2007 - 2008 Bead Journal Page quest. This is May. The face is a polymer clay face I made, painted with gesso and then used water color paints to drip all over it with my favorite colors. I really like this page because I used a bunch of different beads and used some in different techniques that I haven't used before.
I know that I'm really early with the last three pages but, I quit my job and have been using beading to "run away". I am happy that I actually finished the journey. I was afraid earlier in the year that I wouldn't finish and I really wanted to in the worse way. I proved to myself that I could make a year long commitment and do it. Best part is that I enjoyed the whole thing.
I have also enjoyed watching everyone else's pages. They are all so wonderful and creative. I have seen my own growth along the way especially in the beading ways. My favorite part is just letting the page create itself. What fun! Thank you to all for your sharing.

This reminds me of a baby toy my sister used to have. The bottom was round and when you hit it, it rolled all around. What fun!

Your pages are all fantastic. Wow! Already done for the year. I am so behind and don't seem to catch up but I must as like you I am determined to do what I set out to, a whole year project. Do you still have to put your pages together somehow? or are you done done?

Congratulations on finishing all 12 pages!! This page is great, the face looks almost sad that it is the last.. Are you going to continue with the next phase of this?

Arline - the weeble, was it called, it wabbled and weebled. I kind of used to walk like that! lol

Freebird - yes, I have to put grommets on the left side of the pages. I actually left about an inch on the left of each page, I applied felt to that side and wrapped it around to the back. I did glue them down but I also blanket stitched around the entire page with small stitches just to finish it off. I think it's going to be a very thick book!

Kiwi ellen - I am thinking of starting up again for the next round, too. But 2 full years of committment is scary.

Ladies, thank you for your kind words. I appreciate hearing everything.

Wow!
I can't believe how you plowed ahead and finished.
Good for you, congratulations.

At least you have a breather in case you do the journal again.

I just looked back through your earlier posts at your complete year of BJP pages. Your beading skills have grown a lot, haven't they?!!!! I see a bolder more confident approach to design as well. Congratulations! I think you may be the first participant to finish the year. WOW! Now you can relax until we start again (more on that in a day or so)... Cheers, Robin

Wow! I'm sooo envious -- I'm a long long way away from finishing all 12 of my BJPs... but I'll catch up to you eventually. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier too. I hope to do more Key pieces ....
