March BJP

Well, here's my March BJP. My only thought for this was green. I started with a green cat's eye cab and some flower beads and then there was no thought at all. I don't know which way is up or down so if you want to tilt your head either way and decide for me - that's cool. My mother always laughed at me when I said I don't like green and then I'd go and pick out green material for a quilt or a green something or other. Well, I guess this month I don't like green. Sorry to all you St. Patty Day fans. It's been a very busy month with my new job and learning all kinds of new things about autistic kids. Maybe this piece says I'm tired. Not sure - maybe someone out there can figure it out or not! No biggy. I still enjoyed putting bead and thread and needle to fabric so that's the good thing.

Spring, we think, has come to Connecticut. I have a daffodil in bloom in my window well and the crocus are about to pop! It was 50 today with a little sun. We got to hang out our clothes to dry and that's always a good thing. The days are staying light until after 7:00, so it feels like spring! Hope for a little warmer weather and some more sunshine!

Good thing you don't green, or you would have been in misery this month!

I tilted my head to the right and it looked like a great big dragon eye looking back at me.

OK! It's fun to have your invitation to speculate about this piece... My first impressions were island... Also waves moving out from the island or maybe sand bars off the shore of the island. Also spring. I did not once think of St. P. Day.

Thoughts on not liking green... I'm similar to you. Yet I choose green beads many times when I'm shopping... I have far more green beads than any other color and have always wondered why, since I don't particularly care for green. But I do love spring and I do love the colors of green in nature, all the different shades of green moss, so verdant on our property right now... Go figure... fun to ponder these things... thanks! Well, Heidi -- I am a green person and I like your March piece quite a lot.

Won't tell you how warm it has been down here for the past two weeks . . .

Maybe you had Spring in mind while beading this! I'm not a green person either but this is beautiful!

I love it! I don't think it matters which way it goes if it looks good to you in all directions. The greens look great together. Congrats on the new job! Susan

Whatever it means, the green, to me is always the growth and hope, renewal and beginnings. I think it is fun to see what is happening.

I like this alot! In fact, i am green with envy that you have your March page done...lol! I agree with robin, I am seeing a sea of green as well, seafoam splashing up on a shoreline. I am not a big fan of green either, but i think you did a spectacular job using a wide variety of green tones thats very pleasing to the eye.

I did the same as Brenda and tilted my head to the side and looked at it. Don't know why, it was just asking me to do that. Maybe that is what you were doing, tilting your head in quizzical way and saying "well...what is it I am thinking at the moment" lol.

Anyway, what I saw was a one eyed grinning creature and it was very happy.

Green looks good on you! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow...This piece reminds me of the book Verdi -- the snake who doesn't want to grow old...hmmmm...Here's the brief from Amazon...
Verdi is a proud python, flourishing in the flower of his youth. He loves to swiftly slither around the forest, brandishing his bright yellow skin, and can't fathom why anyone would want to be sleepy and green like the adult snakes he knows. Verdi insists, as so many youngsters do, "I will never be lazy, boring or green!" Despite his resolve to stay young, one day he notices a patch of green spreading down the length of his body. Verdi does everything he can think of to erase this first sign of the inevitable tide of age. But in his frenzy of youthful, Icarus-like bravado, he nearly kills himself. Finally, Verdi learns that even though he can't stop the aging process, green skin won't keep him from being a fun-loving, young-at-heart, figure-eight-forming snake.

Well I am definitely a "green person" and I love it! definitely a dragon eye or snake eye, but either way, here are some thoughts on the color green from www.squiddo.com/colorexpert:
How the color green effects us physically and mentally:
Soothing.
Relaxing mentally as well as physically.
Helps alleviate depression, nervousness and anxiety.
Offers a sense of renewal, self-control and harmony.
