April 2009

I can't believe it's almost July! Here is my April page. I'm not sure but I think the reason the page took so long is the color, they are actually golds (not a great picture). Not one of my favorites but I'm trying to stretch myself. Hard to believe that I use to not like orange! This one doesn't speak to me much. It was a long time coming. Any way, it could be that I didn't have a moment between work and 5 days with my son after school at TaeKwonDo and boy scouts when the time permitted, I slept! I'm not complaining. I'm glad this piece is done and I've picked out my next set of beads which will be another stretch for me but we'll see. School is out for now, summer school starts on Wednesday for the month of July but only Monday thru Thurs and half days so that's not too bad. I'll surely get some beading done. I've also taken up reading again. I've been plowing through lots of great books, some my son's some my own but I do enjoy it. I hope everyone is safe from the bad weather and enjoying some sunshine. We had a beautiful day yesterday after a hugh thunderstorm came through. It was so worth the storm.

Well, Heidi, for something that didn't speak much to you, this is beautifully executed with so much texture!!!

Can't tell I like it, right?

I really like this. It reminds me of a sanddollar. I can see it laying on a white sandy beach. It has texture because of the different colors. Julie C

This is beautiful, Heidi. The gilded colors are wonderfully rich and sumptuous.

Stretching is good! Hard or difficult sometimes, but I've done that and been pleasantly surprised sometimes. If nothing else, I figure it helps me get over my bias.

First thing I thought of was a golden sanddollar... then I thought of the sun and of the blessing of sunshine... and finally I thought of protection or of being held in a wee little nest in the center of the universe...

Sometimes my work doesn't speak to me either, which makes it difficult to stick with it. Congratulations on finishing!!!! I guess not every piece can sing... here's hoping that May will be singing from the get-go!

Great to see you here... Hugs, Robin

It may not be your favorite color but it looks beautiful and will look so nice with your other pieces.
