Wow, I looked at my calendar and was very surprised to see that it is the 26th already. Where has this month gone? I'm amazed. Here's a picture of my BJP for June as of right now. I think I figured out how to make it right side up so maybe everyone won't have to lean left this time. Hope you enjoy it. Looks like I have two bags that I'm carrying on either side of my hand. Weird. I'm enjoying the repetition of the stitches and relaxing as I go. I noticed at the begining my stitches are really tight, they are loosening up a bit now that school is out. I have been thinking about my inner child (as Robin) mentioned. I know she's screaming to get out. We'll see what happens next...........

Your image looks wonderfully playful to me. The multi-colored beads around the hand make methink of those little round sprinkles that you shake on cookies and cakes (that I loved to shake into my mouth as a kid!)
I've done quite a bit of "inner child" work/play. Mostly, I just find that putting on some calm music, taking a few deep breaths, looking at your artwork, and asking little Heidi what's goin' on is a great place to start. Even if you find out she's mad as H*#%, starting the conversation is really empowering. She's part of you and in there anyway, and after the frustration, if there is any, is a sense of finding a really cool and lively and spontaneous aspect of yourself who tells it like it is.
Some books that might be helpful:
Visual Journaling by Barbara Ganim and Susan Fox
Recovery of Your Inner Child: The Highly Acclaimed Method for Liberating Your Inner Self (Paperback)
by Lucia Capacchione - an older book but very useful, as are others by the same author.
Searching for this book on amazon will give you other titles also.
Another favorite of mine is Art is a Way of Knowing by Pat Allen, which describes the process she developed for engaging your artwork to communicate with your soul on any topic. She writes about her own experience, which I appreciate very much.
Wow, this looks great! Sorry I can't help you with inner child issues. My trouble is that I have this annoying inner adult telling me what to do! ;-D
I love that you've made the background irregular - and I adore the red nail polish.
This is a really feminine piece! My youngest grandaughter would just adore it! Red nails and pink confetti- do you like to party? dress up? I love it!
I agree that it is a playful piece, but don't touch me without a heart. Very well done. The nails are way cool red, one of my favorite colors.
