July 2nd edition

Above is the beginning of my background. I would have never thought to use sequins. I don't know why but never did, but I love the sparkle of it and the different colors it gives off and the texture. Right now it reminds me of a mermaid that I once made. Hum, watery flowy, pretty.
Below, you'll see and up close picture of one of the fowers with it's stamens. I'm not sure if I'll change anywhere along the way, I will if the want comes up. Thanks to everyone for answering my question about how one gets started. As you see, I have just the peltex that I'm using. I like the firmness of it but it is rather bland and needs to be brightened up. I can't remember who did it but I liked the underpainting. I might try that somewhere.

The flowers look like they are floating above the backround to me. Love the sequins. I have something in mind using them for later in the year.

It's beautiful.

I have never been tempted to use regular sequins (I have used crystal sequins) but they look wonderful and I am tempted by the wonderful surface you have gotten from them. Wonderful work! Angie

WOW - I just love the effect you're getting with those sequins and your flowers are beautiful. Where do you get such "shaded" sequins? I've never seen any like this. Thanks for sharing - very inspiring!

The sequins are perfect, at first glance almost look like crystals.

Heidi,

I'm in love with your creative brain! That is all there is to it. You are just fantasic in what you use and how you use it. My sciene training always gets in my way and you are just having fun with it. I envy you.

The sequins look lovely... I agree that they make the flowers look like they're floating. Why not try the painting right now????
